The big news in my hometown these days is ArtPrize. It's a competition in Grand Rapids, MI, where the first place winner will be awarded $250,000. The winner is determined by voters who register at local sites. The official voting to determine the top ten finalists is from September 23 - September 30, 2009. I was accepted into the competition, with Spectrum Health, Butterworth Campus exhibiting my work. It is located in the main lobby of the hospital. I just learned that the Grand Rapids Press featured my work for their Reed's Lake Clothesline Art Festival Show. The show features 151 artists and is held in East Grand Rapids Michigan.
